Tomás is twenty-eight and has just got a job in Valencia. He needs an apartment near the office and this week he has seen two.
The first apartment is in the center, on a very pretty street with bars and shops. It's bright and has a balcony, but it's small: it only has one bedroom and the kitchen is very narrow. It costs 950 euros a month.
The second apartment is in Benimaclet, a quieter neighborhood. It's bigger than the first: it has two bedrooms and a living room with lots of space. It doesn't have a balcony, but it has an elevator and it's ten minutes from the office by bike. It costs 800 euros, cheaper than the one in the center.
Tomás calls his sister to ask for advice. “The one in the center is prettier,” she says, “but the one in Benimaclet is more practical. Besides, with two bedrooms I can visit you.”
In the end Tomás chooses the second one. “The balcony isn't as important as the space,” he thinks. “And the bars in the center aren't going to move.”
