A year ago I started working at a radio station in Guadalajara. On the first day I was very nervous: I didn't know anyone and I didn't know where anything was.
Él era alto, serio y hablaba muy rápido.I arrived half an hour early. The receptionist gave me an ID badge and took me to the office of my boss, Mr. Treviño. He was tall, serious and spoke very fast.
—Bienvenida, Valeria. Today you're going to help on the morning show,” he said. “It starts in ten minutes.”
¡Diez minutos! Ten minutes! I ran to the studio. There was a woman with headphones who smiled at me: it was Marisol, the radio host. She explained everything to me with a lot of patience: the buttons, the calls from listeners, the ads.
Mañana vas a estar menos nerviosa». That day I made a lot of mistakes. Once I played a song at the wrong moment. But at the end Marisol told me: “You did very well. Tomorrow you'll be less nervous.” She was right. Today Marisol is my best friend at work.
